MEET THE MUSICIANS

FLUTE/PICCOLO RACHEL COHEN

Rachel Cohen just recently completed her Doctorate in Flute Performance from Stony Brook University under the tutelage of Carol Wincenc. Aside from holding the Flute/Piccolo position in the Chamber Orchestra of New York, Rachel is an active freelance flutist around New York City and continues to maintain a private teaching studio.

Prior moving to New York, Rachel held the Piccolo position with the Baton Rouge Symphony, performed in the Natchez Oprera Orchestra and held the Principal Flute position with the Louisiana Sinfonietta, where she soloed frequently around Louisiana and Mississippi. 

Rachel received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University under the guidance of Thomas Robertello and a Masters degree from Louisiana University, with Katherine Kemler.
