MEET THE MUSICIANS

VIOLA ALEKSANDR NAZARYAN

Mr. Nazaryan has received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School in May 2006 and is currently a second year Master’s of Music student at the same school where he studies with Samuel Rhodes. He is also in the second year of Suzuki Violin Teacher Training program at School for Strings.

Mr. Aleksandr Nazaryan has just had his debut concert at Weill Recital Hall as a soloist and a chamber musician in March of 2008. He has also played with the Chamber Orchestra of New York this past May. He returned from Mexico in September where he was a guest violist at the Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra from January 2007. He has held principal viola positions with The Las Vegas and Chautauqua Music Festival Orchestras, and performed with the Juilliard School Orchestra in Carnegie Hall under such eminent Maestros as Julius Rudel, Dennis Russell Davies, Alan Gilbert  and James DePriest, in Avery Fisher Hall under Maestro Stephan Sanderling and in Spoleto Music Festival, Italy under Maestro James Conlon. 

Chamber music performances include numerous concerts at the Juilliard School, Las Vegas Music Festival in August 2005, The Steinway Hall in November 2005, The United Nations in September 2004 and Chautauqua Music Festival from the years 1999 to 2003.

Mr. Nazaryan has also had numerous solo engagements. The most important concerts include solo recitals at The Juilliard School, The Chautauqua Music Festival and solo performances with Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra (Mexico) in 2002, 2000, 1999 performing Mozart’s Symphonie Concertante, Hoffmeister’s Viola Concerto and Stamitz Viola Concerto.
